CRITICAL LITERACY

Assalamualaikum and hello. It is a long time since I update my blog. This is because of the Internet connection that prevent me to continue (hehehe).

So, this time I will comment or maybe suggest about Critical Literacy. Like I been said before in my previous writing. The previous writing is my expectations to the Critical Literacy subject. It is kind of pretty hard at first, but with the awesome lecturer I can catch up the lesson.

For me, Critical Literacy is not really hard. It is enjoyable when you start to understand the subject.  Although it is creepy to hear the name of Critical Literacy and I start to think it really hard. This because I need to think critically for this subject.  I really like the lesson 'The rule of 10'. The first lesson that we need to learn. My lecture said that if you cannot understand this rule, you will be loss in this subject. Yeah... I am loss in first lesson because of the different opinion and method of different lecturers.  but Madam Wani help me a lot for understanding the subject. Thank you Madam Wani.

For my suggestion, I hope that there will no more mass lecture in Critical Literacy. It is hard for us students to understand many opinions and methods from different lecturers. I just hope that the class will be teach by their own lecture.

That all my comment and suggestion for the Critical Literacy subject. I have so much fun and fabulous memories with Madam Wani and my friends in this semester.

HOLLYWOOD

Hollywood produces great movies that based on “True Stories” but they do not always tell the truth.  Why do the producers do so? And we the audience believes it easily although some of us know that it is true…
For me, I quite not believe the movies that based on the true story. Why? (I always ask why…) It is because, not all true story end up with happy ending and there must be a sad ending. There also have a little bit or more add up the story. Yes...add up. So that, the movie will get box-office when in the movie is out. If the producer really follow the true based story in making the film, there are 50-50 percentage the movie will be hit. That the reason that I am not agree.
Second is, the characteristic. Why characteristic not other? I would state that characteristics of the movie that based on true story. For example, in reality the man is protagonist.  But, in the movie, the producer will twist the story and make the characteristic of man in reality become antagonist in the movie. Maybe because the actor that carry out the characteristic is handsome and add up with the skill and talents. So that it will make the movie box-office in the cinema.  Using that way, the producer will gain many profits from it.
Although not all the audience know the true story of the movie, the producer needs to be honest in making movie. There are many pros and cons in making movie especially Hollywood movies.

MONEY?? HAPPINESS??

Is money can buy happiness? Think again. Not all that we

want that make us happy can be pay by money.  If you think that

money can buy anything, you are such a greedy person. I have got

the question that sound if the child at the black market.  If the child

that they bought at the black market can bring happiness to who

bought the child. And it also brings happiness to the parents who

sell their child. Why and how it bring happiness?  I will state the

true happiness for the both perspective.

First perspective is to the parents that sold their child to the black market.  Maybe by that way it can bring happiness to them. There are many reasons why they do that. Maybe they are poor and really need the money and by selling the child, it can bring happiness to them because they have the money.

Second perspective is to the parents that did not have children and really need them. They will sacrifice their money although it is a lot of money use to buy the child. To them, that is the real happiness because they have children although have invest so much money on it. Money is nothing to them because it cannot bring happiness. There is a quote from Charles Kuralt, “The love of family and admiration of friends is much more important than wealth and privilege.” Many of the parents nowadays want a child because as being said in the quote.

In the family, children are the rewards because it can bring happiness to the family.

STEREOTYPING

What is the meaning of stereotyping? If you did not know, I will explain to you. Stereotyping means a conventional, formulaic, and oversimplified conception, opinion or image.  So, know you get the idea of what the stereotyping is right?

Stereotyping has developed among us when we are young without we realize it. Maybe it still develops among people nowadays without we realize... maybe..? Who know right? Or it still develops inside yourself?

For me, I am still stereotyping. Yes... I admit it because why you need being fake if you just can be yourself? Back to the topic, if you see a girl that wear like a boy wear, you will think that the girl is boyish. Plus the girl maybe acts like the boy and you we scared to approach the girl. That is stereotyping. The step to avoid stereotyping in this situation is we need to approach the girl and know her better. That is my opinion.

Stereotyping is not good in our community because it can lead to many misunderstanding among us. If possible , we need to avoid this stereotyping disease and for me also that are stereotyping is on the way to fix it.

So, I think regarding to the this question,we need to avoid STEREOTYPING.Lets change our mind and do not be stereotype.

EXPECTATIONS ABOUT CRITICAL LITERACY

Critical Literacy?

I have never heard about this and shock that it will be my subject this semester (semester 4). When I want to register the subject, at that time I am a little bit curious about "What is the Critical Literacy" is. I thought that it will be same as the Literature subject that I have studied in the last semester   (semester 3). A continuous subject from that. After a mind confusion about the subject, I look at the lecture who will teach me. It is Madam Wani! How I so proud and happy when saw Madam Wani's name at the timetable. I feel really ease after saw the lecturer's name because for me, Madam Wani is a fun lecturer. (This is because Madam Wani  had teach me in the semester 2 and that's why I am so happy).

So, for the first class if I not mistaken, on Monday. My heart like wanna to pop up from my chest because really happy!  Saw Madam Wani entering the class make my friends (new friends) and me really excited. After had a briefly explanation about what is Critical Literacy is, I knew that this subject is not a continuous from Literature. A little bit disappointing because it is not the same as I expect. But.as always when we want to learn a new thing, we will happy isn't? So, do I. Learning a new subject is the thing that I love whether it is formal or informal education.

I hope that Critical Literacy subject is fun and exciting to learn it. I really hope that i will passionately and like this subject until the end of this semester and have a good result.
